Name of Character: Idris Hopper
Image of Character:
Actor/Actress: Aled Pedrick
Age: 25-27.
Background:
Well-educated young man. He was very proud to get his job - being a secretary to the major of Cardiff is really something. But the major appeared to be non-human and, actually, that was his first encounter with aliens.
It would be forgotten, if a stranger, named Jack Harkness (Captain Jack Harkness, he called himself) hadn't invited him for a dinner. It was obvious that Jack had an intention to shag Idris, but that never happened.
Later, Idris met Jack Harkness once more - Jack had even a team, protecting Cardiff from future\aliens\so-called Rift. Jack had a task for Idris and promised that it would be the last time Idris ever saw them. Idris took a diary of a man called Bilis Manager and decoded it.
After this adventure he was given two retcon pills (modified) and forgot his conversations with Jack. And got a good job in Berlin (no one knows why, but Bilis Manager set next to him in the plane, carrying some sort of strange jug.
Personality:
Idris is hard-working nice young man. He's sometimes nervous, but he thinks this actually helps him to get what he wants.
He's not sure whether he likes men or women, but that doesn't seem to be a problem.
He likes ham and pizza.
Sometimes he's a bit childish, but he's easy-going and a man one can depend upon.
How are they involved with Torchwood:
Well, Idris met Jack Harkness. Actually, twice. And the Doctor.
As I said earlier, Idris helped Torchwood team to decode Bilis Manager's diary to prevent Earth from another EndoftheWorld.
Sometimes he's bothered by visions and thoughts, but he tries to ignore them because it's the way people usually deal with such thoughts.
But one day he's sent back from Berlin to Cardiff...
Roleplaying Sample:
Idris loved clean streets of Berlin. He also loved its dark nights and bright sun. As for his job.. He couldn't wish for more. Well, there was something unusual about his boss, but Idris hoped it wasn't going to be the same story all over again.
He even loved the building he worked in: shiny metal doors, tidy rooms, polite stuff. All that sort of things Idris was fond of.
Damm!
- Entschuldigen Sie, bitte, - uttered Idris, realising, that he'd just bumped into his colleague. - Ich.. hab' Sie.. nicht bemerkt..
She smiled and picked up her documents. Nodded and went away without a word.
Yeah. That was a rude excuse.
Idris followed her with his eyes and thought, he could try asking her out on a date. After all that sort of shared looks and coffee cups at lunch.
- Herr Hopper?
Nah, never mind, back to work. He should watch over what's done. Things should be run smoothly, without any problem, otherwise he won't be satisfied. And the boss won't.
He got used to this life. He managed to escape even from nightmares, that followed him ever after that alien in Cardiff. He had everything he wanted. Well, almost everything, but he was young and he had a life to live. Idris kept these sunny thoughts till the moment boss announced list of workers who would go back to Wales. As far as Idris understood, he was appointed the head of the delegation.
Since that moment all things went wrong.
Anything else?:
Look, he's no Marty Stue.)
